Journey of Shakti Singh

Shakti Singh always wanted to join the Armed Forces and his joy had no boundaries when he was finally recommended from 11 SSB Allahabad. Shakti Singh says that his screening process was very easy because the practice for OIR conducted at Centurion Defence Academy really helped him. PPDT Picture in Shakti’s SSB was very hazy. He had perceived that a girl was standing beside a painting and made a story around it. There was a fish market during the discussion and he did not participate in this fish market. He spoke only when everyone was silent and kept listening to others attentively.

His Psych Tests went very well as he was mentored by Sir Shishir Dixit. Unique Psychological Guidance provided by Shishir Sir really helped him and he was able to write most of WAT and SRTs. During his personality Interview, most of the questions were from his PIQ Form only. There was a lot of cross-questioning on his answers. But he maintained his calm and answered all questions. Most of the questions were based on his background and his hobbies. He had also switched his school so many questions were asked on this. Shakti Singh was ‘Diary Writing’ so many questions were asked on his diary writing hobby as well.

His Advice to upcoming Defence Aspirants

Shakti Singh advises upcoming Defence Aspirants that they should prepare for OIR very well and do a lot of practice. Practice will improve speed and accuracy. Shakti Singh also recommends that they should not become part of the fish market in group discussion. He says that in psych tests candidates should focus on quality rather than quantity. He also advises candidates to prepare their PIQ form very well because most of the questions will be based on PIQ Form only.
