  • • Section B consists of 15 questions and candidates need to answer only 10 questions.
  • • Each question carries four marks and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

 

MNS eligibility criteria
  • Only candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria of Indian Army BSc nursing 2022 are considered for admission. Aspirants must go through the academic, physical, and other MNS 2022 eligibility criteria.
  • Nationality: Only Indian nationals are permitted to apply for the MNS exam 2022.
  • Gender: Indian Army BSc nursing exam admits only female candidates.
  • Age: As per MNS eligibility 2022, applicants must be born between October 1, 1997, to September 30, 2005. This is inclusive of both the dates mentioned. The date of birth (DOB) of the candidate will be verified via their class 10 certificate.
  • Academic qualification: Candidates who have passed class 12 examinations as regular students with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as their core subjects are eligible to apply for MNS 2022. Applicants appearing for their class 12 examinations are also eligible to fill the Indian Army BSc nursing application form. Those who have passed their class 12, should have qualified for their exam in a single attempt.
  • Physical eligibility: The height of the candidates applying for Indian Army BSc nursing must be at least 152 cm. While for Gorkhas and candidates from North East India the minimum height required in MNS 2022 is 148 cm. In addition to this, candidates22 will have to go through a mandatory fitness examination for Indian Army BSc nursing 20admission. Only those who meet the standards set for the Armed.

 

MNS Exam Pattern (To GIGE)

Following NEET, an 80-mark Test of General Intelligence and General English (To GIGE) will be conducted. Only NEET qualified candidates will be able to appear in this test. The questions will carry objective questions from General Intelligence and General English carrying a total of 80 marks.

 

An objective-type Psychological Assessment Test (PAT)

The PAT, or psychological assessment test, is a component of the MNS selection process. It is a qualifying exam, and the results won’t be taken into account for creating the final merit list. Assessments are thought to represent individual or group variations in the concept the test is intended to examine.

 

The Interview Round

After the completion of the computer-based test, the interview is the next round of the selection process in the MNS exam. The Interview round conducted by the Board members consisting of officers of the Indian Armed Forces. The interview round plays a vital role in the overall proficiency assessment of an aspirant. Therefore, the candidates preparing for the MNS exam must be familiar with the questions asked in the interview round. Questions asked during the MNS Interview include

  • – Question Related to Military Nursing Services
  • – Question Related to the Armed Forces
  • The major objective of conducting the interview is to analyze the compatibility of candidates for the Military Nursing Services. Most of the questions in the MNS interview are asked from the family background of the candidates, their educational qualification, and their perspective towards the military nursing services. During the MNS interview, the following are the important documents to be produced in original along with one attested photocopy of each.
  •  – 10th or equivalent Certificate in support of the date of birth of the candidates.
  •  – 10+2 or equivalent Certificate & mark sheet
  •  – Interview Call Letter
  •  – Aadhar Card
  •  – Gap Certificate, as the case may be.
  •  – Two latest Character Certificates issued from different Gazetted Officers.
  •  – Bonafide certificate issued by the School Principal along with an attested copy of the admit card of the board examination in case of 12th appearing candidates.
  •  – Domicile Certificate/Nationality Certificate (DC/NC ).
  •  – Dependent Certificate of Army/Ex-Personnel, as the case may be.
  •  – Certificate of SC/ ST, as applicable in case of the reserved categories
  •  – Dependent Certificate (DC) of Army / Ex-Service personnel from the Competent Authority, as the case may be.
  •  – NCC ‘C’ Certificate, if the candidate is an NCC Cadet
  •  – Certificate of Participation in the Sports Events a School/College/District/State/National Level, as the case may be.
  •  – At least 10 Colored Passport-size Photographs
  •  – Travel ticket for reimbursement of the conveyance charges
  • The competent authority has the right to revoke the candidature of an applicant in case she fails to present the required set of documents during the Interview. The TA will not be applicable in the event of not providing the required set of documentation. Therefore, the MNS aspirants are advised to follow the instructions carefully and arrange the essential documents to avoid any further discrepancies.

 

The Medical Examination

  • A significant number of qualified candidates in the order of merit will be called for an interview. After the interview, the recommended candidates will appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB).
  • Only those candidates who clear the interview will be called for the medical examination. The process of interview and medical examination may take around 2-5 days.
  • Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT will be informed by the President of the Medical board including the procedure of requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD.
  • Finally, after the completion of every stage of the exam, only the required number of shortlisted candidates who are declared medically fit in all respects will be sent call letters to report to the respective college of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services.

 

The following are the key points in the MNS medical process.
  • The candidate must be physically and mentally fit according to the Military Boards.
  • There are two primary medical tests in the MNS medical examination that include an X-ray of the Chest and USG (ultrasonography of the abdomen).
  • The shortlisted candidates will undergo the physical fitness test under the Medical Board decided by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS).
  • The minimum acceptable standards in case of distant vision should be 6/6 with a better eye and 6/18 with a worse eye.
  • Myopia of not more than minus – 5.5 D including astigmatism and manifest hypermetropia of not more than plus 3.5 D including astigmatism.
  • (There should be no organic disease likely to cause exacerbations
  • or deterioration of vision and the candidates should have good binocular vision, fusion faculty, and the full field of vision in both eyes.

MNS Physical Standards: Height and Weight

Candidates’ height will be measured by having them stand with their feet together against a standard. The weight should be distributed on the heels rather than the toes or the outside edges of the feet. The heels, calves, buttocks, and shoulders will all touch the standard, the chin will be depressed to make the vertex of the head level under the horizontal bar, and the height will be measured in centimeters.

  • The minimum height for a women candidate is 152 cm.
  • The minimum height for Gorkhas and candidates from North East India is 147 cm.
  • A relaxation of 1.3 cm will be given to those candidates who are otherwise fit in all respects but fall short of minimum height.
  • Minimum of 14 dental points is essential and candidates should be free from severe
  • pyorrhoea and advanced caries.
  • The minimum acceptable weight of a candidate should be 39 Kg.
  • The weight of a candidate should be in proportion to the height as laid down in the medical standards of the Indian Army for the female aspirants.
  • 10% variation on either side of the average is acceptable, it means a slight increase or decrease in the weight of a candidate by 10% will be admissible.

MNS Written Exam Details

The MNS constituted an all women, all officer Corps of the Indian Army. The women officers in the MNS are treated as an integral part of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). The Military Nursing Services – MNS exam is conducted annually by the Directorate General of Medical Services (DGMS) to select female applicants for admission to the 4-year B.Sc. (Nursing) course at the Armed Forces Medical Services Colleges of Nursing. The entry requirements for the MNS exam have changed, and candidates must now pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in order to be eligible to take the MNS exam. Under the new syllabus for the Military Nursing Service (MNS) Exam, candidates will now need to tackle five testing rounds, with NEET being a prerequisite for moving on.

NEET + MNS Exam Syllabus

The qualification requirements for the MNS exam from the year 2023 have been revised throughout the six affiliated colleges. Instead of a single MNS written test, candidates will now have to pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Under the new syllabus, candidates will now need to tackle five testing rounds, with NEET being a prerequisite for moving on.
