For the CDS written examination, there were 3 shifts based on 3 papers – English Language, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics.

All the aspirants who applied for the posts of IMA, AFA, and INA appeared in all three papers.

All those candidates who applied for OTA appeared for only two papers, i.e., English Language and GK. These candidates have been exempted from appearing for the Mathematics paper.

CDS-1 2026 Exam English Paper

The English language test was aimed at testing comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure skills. The question paper contained:
