Centurion Defence Academy Pays a Heartfelt Tribute to India's Kargil Heroes Through a Grand Shaheed Smriti Programme

On the occasion of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Centurion Defence Academy, through its social initiative Centurion Foundation, organised a grand Shaheed Smriti Programme at the Smritika War Memorial, Lucknow Cantt, to pay homage to the 527 brave soldiers who laid down their lives during Operation Vijay (1999).

The commemorative programme brought together distinguished dignitaries, ex-servicemen, defence aspirants, students, and citizens to honour the heroes whose extraordinary bravery safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty. The Shaheed Smriti Programme witnessed the gracious presence of several eminent dignitaries, including Shri Dharampal Ji, Hon’ble Pradesh Sangathan Mahamantri, BJP; Dr. Neeraj Singh Ji, Pradesh Vice President, BJP; Shri Mukesh Sharma Ji, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Council; Shri Anand Dwivedi Ji, President, BJP Lucknow Mahanagar; Smt. As the lamps illuminated the Smritika War Memorial, the atmosphere transformed into a moving tribute to the nation’s heroes. Every glowing flame symbolised a life dedicated to protecting the country and reminded everyone present that the sacrifices of our soldiers will always remain etched in the nation’s memory.

The programme concluded with a spectacular Laser Show that celebrated the courage and determination of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War.
