Selection Process

The selection process for Army TES 55 is straightforward but thorough. Here’s how it works:

  • Shortlisting of Applications:

Based on your JEE (Mains) 2025 score and PCM percentage, the Army shortlists candidates.

  • SSB Interview:

Shortlisted candidates are called for SSB Interview — a 5-day personality and psychological evaluation conducted at selection centres like Allahabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, or Kapurthala.

  • Medical Examination:

Those who clear the SSB will undergo a comprehensive medical test to ensure they meet the required physical standards.

  • Final Merit List:

A merit list is prepared based on SSB performance and medical fitness. Finally, selected candidates join the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, for training.

Training Details

  • Location: Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
  • Type: Pre-commission training

Duration: 4 years (divided into two parts)

  • 3 years of engineering training
  • 1 year of military training at IMA

After successful completion, cadets are granted Permanent Commission in the Army as Lieutenants.

You’re right! The JEE (Main) exam is held in January, followed by board exams. However, the TES-55 entry is for candidates who have already appeared in JEE (Main) 2025. For students appearing in JEE (Main) 2026, the next TES-56 entry will be applicable.
In TES entry, shortlisting is done based on your JEE score and 12th marks, followed by SSB interview and medical tests.
