The MNS constituted as an all women, all officer Corps of the Indian Army. The women officers in the MNS treated as an integral part of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). MNS Written Exam conducted once in a year by Indian Army to recruit candidates in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Forces. The AFMS personnel serve in the medical establishments of Army, Navy and Air Force.

MNS is a two-tier examination, wherein it includes:
Stage-1 Written examination and
Stage-2 SSB Interview.

Sex Female only
Marital Status Unmarried/Divorced/Legally separated
Age Limit 16 ½ to 24 year’s (as on the first day of the month in which is due to commence)
Educational Qualification Passed/Appearing 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English with not less than 50% aggregate marks
