Overview of NDA Exam

The NDA (National Defence Academy) entrance examination acts as a pathway for aspirants wanting to join the Indian Armed Forces as officers. It is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and primarily assesses your General Ability and Mathematics knowledge. That’s all the written examination is, and then there is an SSB Interview phase that assesses your mental ability, toughness, and physical fitness.

The NDA examination is conducted twice a year as NDA 1 and NDA 2, and is the first stage of a long but rewarding journey to serving the nation.

Selection Process

1. Written Exam

The NDA written exam has two parts: Mathematics and the GAT (General Ability Test). When the exam is finished, UPSC declares the result and publishes a list of candidates who cleared the written exam.

2. SSB Interview

Candidates who clear the written examination will be informed to report to the SSB Interview (the candidate is assessed for character, intelligence, and leadership abilities over several days).

3. Medical Examination

Candidates who are recommended in the SSB interview will face a long and rigorous medical test to assess the physical and medical standards required by the armed forces.

4. Final Merit List

Final selection is based on written examination marks and SSB performance.

NDA-2 2025 Expected Result Date

Based on UPSC’s previous trends, the NDA-2 2025 Result is expected to be announced by the last week of September 2025. UPSC generally releases the NDA written exam result within a month.

Follow these simple steps to check your NDA-2 2025 result once it is released:

  1. Visit the official website of UPSC: https://upsc.gov.in
  2. Click on the “Examinations” tab in the menu.
  3. Select the “Results” link from the dropdown.
  4. Look for the “National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (II), 2025” link.
  5. Click the PDF link to download the result.
  6. Open the PDF file and search for your roll number.

7. If your roll shows in the PDF, then you have qualified for the SSB interview stage.
